Studies on Far Infrared Energy
What is Far Infrared Energy?
Far Infrared Energy (FIR) is part of the sun’s spectrum of energy. The electromagnetic spectrum is a measure of various types of energies that are transported through space. These energies travel in a wave pattern. The spectrum encompasses, gamma rays, x-rays, ultraviolet, visible light (colours of the rainbow), infrared, microwaves and radio waves, from the the shortest wavelengths to the longest. The shorter the wavelengths, the higher the energy. This is why gamma rays are considered are destructive to the body. At the other end of the spectrum are radio waves, which we use everyday to transmit signals. The wavelengths of visible light is what our eyes can detect.
The reason why we feel heat from the sun is because of infrared energy (0.76-1000 microns. For that matter, every form of heat we experience, such as heat from a fire, or heat from our own bodies, can be termed as infrared energy. Infrared energy can be categorised into 3 groups - near (0.76-1.5microns), mid (1.5-4microns) and far (4-1000microns). Near infrared rays have the most energy (shortest wavelengths) in infrared energy. When focused on a spot, far infrared energy (FIR) is able to warm an object. FIR has the ability to penetrate our skin and body tissue about 1.5-2.8 inches deep and warm our bodies. Because of the radiating of heat, it increases the temperature of the body tissues and stimulates further cellular activity in our bodies. Blood vessels are dilated and tissues are energized because of the improved circulation. Because of this, FIR can be used to speed up the recovery from inflammations and scars.
The warming of the body stimulates many benefits. For example, the warming of the bone marrow produces more blood cells. According to Dr. Masao Nakamura (O & P Medical Clinic, Japan), he has had positive results using FIR to treat patients with the following conditions: whiplash, insomnia, menopause, sciatica, acne, shoulder stiffness, arthritis, ear diseases, gastroenteritis problems. Today, FIR heat therapy is used in hospitals to treat arthritis and musculo-skeletal conditions. According to the British encyclopedia, FIR is anti-stroke, anti-cancer and anti-ageing.
FIR energy also has the ability to change the molecular structure of water so that it becomes ‘finer’ and easier for the skin’s absorption. Embedded in the hydrotherapy spa mat are bioceremic stones, which naturally emit FIR. Without placing water or powering the Home Hydrotherapy Spa System, the mat constantly emits FIR. Daily exposure to FIR while enjoying a hydro massage can maintain and improve your health in the long term.

FIR & Cancer
Dr. Sano Kentarou, PhD, Director of Sano Surgery Hospital, Japan
This research studies focus on the treatment of cancer patients. He uses an integrated approach in his treatment. He has published many research papers and below is a summary of a publication “ Heat Treatment via Far Infrared causes Cancer Cells to disappear”
2. Breast cancer – 56.3%
3. Pancreatic cancer – 42.9%
4. Liver Cancer – 66.7%

- Coldness is the root cause of all illnesses.
- Bathing in hot tubs is the simplest way to raise body temperature. How ever to achieve internal warming, one needs to bath in a hot tub for 60 minutes.
- Perspiration is an effective way to remove heavy metals from our body.
- Heat therapy has been found to be effective in treating cancers such as lung cancer, breast cancer, pancreatic cancer and liver cancer. The success rates for the various cancers are:
2. Breast cancer – 56.3%
3. Pancreatic cancer – 42.9%
4. Liver Cancer – 66.7%
- Research shows that the success of rate for cancer patients is higher for healthier individuals.
- The first documented case of using heat to treat cancer systematically took place in Germany in 1965. Doctor Aldin who conducted the treatment put the patient into a hot tub with 45c under light anesthesia
- FIR in an effective way of raising internal body temperature and hence an effective way to treat cancer. A study involving 99 patients in Germany showed that the effectiveness is 64% with just one treatment. As the frequency of heat therapy increases, the success rate of treating cancer increases.
